Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

Proactive in managing the roads network through approved processes and procedures. Use of various systems and information services in order to monitor and manage the Roads Network in a safe and efficient manner and in accordance with agreed procedures and processes.

Lead the team during day to day management, although incident management may sometimes be led by RNMC Supervisors or senior management. Ensure that all members of their Team know what is expected of them during the day to day management of the roads network. This will be done through approved processes and procedures but the Team Leader has a mentoring role and shall ensure that Operators work together to achieve the desired operational outcomes.

A pivotal role in fostering a positive, professional and trusting working relationship with colleagues and stakeholders. May be called upon to deputise for the RNMC Supervisor in their absence.

Roles & Responsibilities
- Follow the Policy, Process and Procedures applicable to the role.
- Deliver tasked operator functional roles.
- Monitor the Roads Network Area assigned.
- Line Manager to a subset of Operators.
- Escalate issues to the appropriate RNMC Area Team Leader.
- Deal with Stakeholders in a positive and sensitive manner.
- Functional Roles will include but are not limited to;
- Management and Operation of Traffic Signals and other ITS.
- Incident Management.
- CCTV Monitoring.
- Message sign setting.
- Booking of road closures (out of hours).
- Providing real time information.
- Second line Customer Service Team contact support.
- Operational support of Major Events.
- Operational support of Abnormal Loads/Hazardous Loads.
- Weather monitoring and Extreme Weather Management.
- Congestion monitoring and network optimization.
- Tunnels operation and management.

- Able to demonstrate strong leadership.
- Capable of analysing, and making reasoned decisions quickly.
- Negotiation and conflict management / resolution.
- Able to delegate and work as part of a team.
- People Management.
- Attention to detail.
- Good communication skills, written and verbal.
- Calm under pressure.
- Adaptable and able to respond to changing priorities.
- English and Arabic speaking.
