Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

- Manages the day-to-day operational & contract aspects of multiple projects.
- Responsible for providing feedback regarding project progress, deviations, changes and ensuring that the projects are delivered to Ashghal Standards.
- Handover the site (possession of site), Pre-contract meeting (kickoff), and ROs and approvals, officially to the contractor.
- Review and approve project control system which measure the progress / performance, provide early warning of deviations from plan and identifies corrective actions to be taken.
- Monitoring (after liaise with traffic unit) traffic diversions and ensure its effective and safe.
- Ensures that a quality control, safety plan compliance with QCS & Ashghal Specifications and coordination with Quality Department.
- Reviews deliverables across projects, minimizes exposure and risk.
- Manage scope and achieves goals set for projects, confronts issues quickly.
- Ensure timely hand-over (delivery) of project.
- Certification of progress claim submitted by the consultants and contractors.
- Prepare and submit report to senior management on work progress status.
- Inspect construction sites on a periodical basis to ensure conformance to design specifications and adherence to quality.
- Interprets, explains and enforces regulations and policies, confer with construction regarding possible changes to plans and problem resolution.
- Ensures that consultants and contractors produce regular reports on damages, accidents, delays, bad weather or emergencies.
- Encourages contractors to observe applicable safety rules and regulations. Identifies corrective action and agrees with consultants and contractors.
- Monitor and resolve matters such as work procedures, complaints and construction problems.
- Ensures effective communication and coordination on assigned projects between all disciplines and all other project participants.
- Responsible for planning, scheduling, conducting and coordinating the technical and management aspects of projects.
- Lead team, project progress, technical and coordination meetings.

Requirements

- Experience in Roads Projects.
- Chartered engineer status from a recognized institution or working towards chartered engineering status or registration as a professional project manager.
- A minimum of 12 years experience involved with the design, construction, and procurement of major road projects.
- Administration of consultant and contractor contracts related to the delivery of major road projects.
- Experienced in the management of a team of professional staff.
- Desirable to have experience in working with and within government agencies or clients side generally at a senior level.
- Desirable to have experience of working in Qatar.
- Strong communication and leadership skills.
