This role will support the training capabilities of staff moving to the New Women's Hospital and will report to the Program Manager (WH) and work within the Project Management Office At Womens Hospital. The section below lists the key duties for this role. - Confer with management, staff and vendors and other stakeholders to identify training needs to enable WH staff to undertake new ways of business in the New Women's Hospital. This will include but not be limited to training on new work flows for patients and staff; training on new equipment and technology; orientation to the new building and mandatory training.
- Develop staff training plan (including schedule and time frame) for approval by the executive committee (also analyze existing training programs or modify and improve existing programs).
- Liaise with equipment providers and technology vendors to clarify what training will be provided (when and by whom and for how many staff) and what training documentation will be made available. Identify certificates will be provided for attendance / compliance / certification.
- Plan, develop and provide training and staff development programs using the knowledge of effectiveness of methods such as classroom training, demonstrations, on -the-job training, meetings, conferences, workshops, vendor demonstrations, site visits to other hospitals etc.
- Develop and organize training manuals, multimedia visual aids and other education materials
- Document all equipment related material from vendors including training documentation; certifications; warranties, maintenance agreements and distribute as required
- Develop testing and evaluation procedures (competency based training)
- Identify instructors and change leaders to assist with the roll-out of training within the organization and develop training timetable
- Evaluate instructor performance and the effectiveness of training programs providing recommendations for improvement
- Conduct or arrange for ongoing technical training for staff using a Train the Trainer approach

Requirements

- Bachelor's degree in Science, Management, Humanities or Business Administration (Master's Degree in Science - desirable)
- Experience in Managing a Learning & Development/Training Department
- 3 years of project management experience
- A track record of delivering significant improvement programs at a country or regional level in a healthcare environment (or science technology background)
- Vast knowledge with CERNA
