Are you an experienced Project Manager, seeking the opportunity to enhance your career on a $billion luxury resort project in Morocco?

Our client is one of the Middle East’s premier construction consultancies who have an outstanding reputation of success. They provide project management services on a wide variety of professional projects in various locations throughout the Gulf and North Africa.

Based on the outskirts of Tangiers in Morocco this high profile contract requires a hands on Project Manager to be involved in the development of a luxurious tourist resort covering over 2,300,000 sqm of coastline overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. The resort will include deluxe residential buildings, a variety of spectacular restaurants, an 18-hole golf course, a prestigious country club and picturesque beaches. Project duration 5 years.

Once completed the location is tipped to become a top destination for tourists from Europe, Middle East and North Africa.

Our client is essentially acting as Project Controls Manager on the scheme.

Main tasks:

•Responsible for monitoring and supervising all activities related to the project ensuring completion to budget and time schedules. This will include the monitoring of companies in relation to project management schedules, use of sub-contractors, and on-site construction engineering activities.

•Responsible for providing feedback regarding project progress, deviations, and changes and ensuring delivering the project to acceptable standards.

•Assist the Commercial Department in development and implementation of the contracting strategy for selection of appropriate companies to ensure adherence procedure and governance.

•Supervise the project team to ensure completeness of technical brief for the Tender and optimal technical and financial evaluation.

•Provide day-to-day direction to ensure a high performance, customer service-oriented work environment.

•Operate personnel policies, procedures and performance management processes for project staff.

•Keep abreast of technical developments, relevant regulations and industry best practice.

•Review draft contracts and participate in contract negotiations.

•Ensure proper and clear division of responsibility between the partners where there is integrated work processes.

Requirements

•Must have a construction related Degree qualification.

•Possess a minimum of 15 years work experience, with at least 9 years in a project management capacity.

•Previous working experience in Middle East or North Africa would be a distinct advantage.

•Knowledgeable of international conditions of contract such as FIDIC.

For the ideal candidate our client can offer a net salary package of circa QAR 53,000 per month (actual salary will be paid in Moroccan Dirhams)
