Job description / Role
Hamad Bin Khalifa Medical City (HBKMC) is currently recruiting for the role of Senior Project Officer to support Project Managers/Directors within the Medical City Commissioning team.
The incumbent will be required to plan, develop, and manage assigned projects until delivery, ensure compliance to the project schedule and budget, as well as risk and issue management.
In addition the Senior Project Officer will be required to perform the following duties and responsibilities:
Carry out project management activities from development to implementation under the supervision of the Project Manager
Effectively communicate project expectations to team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear manner
Coordinate with project stakeholders on an on-going basis, providing updates and involvement.
Assist in estimating the resources and participants needed to achieve project goals.
Plan and schedule project timelines and milestones using appropriate project management tools
Track project milestones and deliverables
Proactively manage changes in project scope; identify potential project crises and devise contingency plans
Manage the day-to-day operational aspects of a project and scope; minimizes risk
Effectively apply project management methodologies and enforces project standards
Prepare for engagement reviews and quality assurance procedures
Ensure project documentation is complete, current, and stored appropriately
Analyze project financials, including budget compliance if required
Develop best practices and tools for project execution and management
Perform other duties as required
Requirements
Desired Candidate Profile
Successful candidates will be able to demonstrate at least 3-5 years direct experience in running projects, events and activities. Applications are welcomed from candidates who meet the following criteria:
At least a high school graduation certificate, but preferably a Bachelors Degree in business, healthcare administration, or equivalent
Preferably more than 5 years in project management, PMP certification or similar would be an advantage
Excellent understanding of the healthcare environment and relevant processes, procedures, and stakeholders would be a distinct advantage
Fluent in English
Arabic would be an advantage
MS Office Products Project Management Software Applications
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
Data collection and analysis
Customer service orientation
Initiative, self-starting behaviors
Ability to think in situations requiring a significant degree of judgment to analyze, evaluate, and arrive at conclusions
Uses freedom to think within generally defined policies, procedures, and goals under the guidance of the Project Manager.
