Job description / Role
* Provide commercial and contractual services to ensure commercial targets are being achieved.
* Attend discussions with main contractors, sub-contractors and other consultants as required.
* Provide contractual and commercial support to estimating and procurement departments.
* Ensure that contractual obligations are properly executed by the company.
* Advise on commercial risks within the projects.
* Carry out / supervise all measurement, pricing and submission of contract variations / re-measures.
* Prepare / supervise preparation of monthly / interim payment applications through to Final Account.
* Prepare monthly project cost review reports as required.
* Prepare project cashflows as required.
* Prepare monthly management accounts information as required.
* Identify changes and prepare variation measures, including pricing, submission and negotiation with
Main Contractor / Clients Representatives / Clients QS.
* Carry out staff appraisals of subordinates as required.
* Attend internal and external start-up meetings with the project team.
* Carry out validation of the project estimates with PM, prepare and agree final budget with CM / Senior
Management. Monitor and update on a monthly basis.
* Assist CM with the preparation of project and regional commercial forecasts as required.
* Management and supervision of Subcontractor and Supplier accounts including tendering, tender
analyses, negotiation of terms, preparation and execution of Subcontract documents, purchase orders,
variations, formal instructions, payments, final accounts etc. as required.
* Preparation of contractual claims for extensions of time and loss & expense.
* Maintain accurate commercial and contractual records for the projects to ensure targets are being met
and to enable the company to access the necessary contractual documentation and records quickly and
efficiently in the event of any disputes or claims.
* Assist CM with commercial roles across the company as required.
Requirements
They are looking for a Senior Quantity Surveyor who is well-grounded with excellent experience in either the commercial, residential, education or sports sector and who has the experience of providing a high level service to a wide range of clients.
The successful Senior Quantity Surveyor will likely have a degree in Quantity Surveying or a similar technical discipline and also possess:
* MRICS or professionally qualified in another construction related subject (or qualified by experience)
* In depth knowledge and experience of the Commercial or Education sectors
* Feasibility and cost planning, procurement advice, tender documentation and post contract
