Job description / Role
Has the overall responsibility and delegated authority to verify the implementation of company’s Quality policy on the Project, Through the Design, Procurement and Construction activities at the site in order to ensure that the project’s technical, programme and quality objectives are met.
The responsibilities of the Sr. QA/QC Engineer, comprise the following:
•Establishment and Maintenance of the project specific quality system documentation on the project in accordance with Six Construct's standard quality system and the contract.
•The planning of all QA/QC activities in conjunction with the Project Manager
•Studying the project specifications.
•Studying and implement the approved shop drawings.
•Checking delivered material compliance with the approved material submittals.
•Checking the quality of the materials produced or processed on site (concrete, steel bars…)
•Control the quality and the compliance of all works carried out on site as per the method statements approved by the Engineer and as per the standards
•Prepare and Follow up all the inspection requests.
•Organizes quality control inspections and supervises inspections and providing support for the QC Inspectors.
•Advising the Project Manager regarding appropriate preventive action following the occurrence of Non-Conforming work.
•Control of Non-Conformance Reports and Registers and report to the Site Superintendent.
•The control of non-conformities, disposition, corrective and preventive actions.
•Surveillance and audit of the project Quality Management System including corrective and preventive action where required.
•Implementing proper document control system to record and track the quality documents.
•The establishment of test plans including the preparation and/or review of all Quality Control forms and reports and the verification of their implementation.
•Ensuring on time testing and recording of all the concrete cubes testing and soil testing as per the specification requirement.
•Establishes Quality Plan for the project in accordance with Besix-ISO 9001 quality plan.
•Assists the HTO and the site Superintendents in the follow up and reporting on the quality of work
•Coordinates quality plans of Sub-contractors
•Initiates visits, with Procurement Manager, to Sub-contractors/suppliers to verify off-site manufactured materials
•Verifies execution and reports (non-conformity notices)
•Reports on cast-in items, embedded items, buried items (closure notices)
•Identifies and collects test on excavations, backfill and soil replacement
•To supervise the laboratory and all the tests
Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering with more than 5 years experience in the QA/QC field.
Extensive experience in the construction field
Proven knowledge of the main QA/QC norms
Communicative, convincing, diplomatic and a motivator.
