Job description / Role
Reporting to the Cost Manager responsible for estimating, budgeting, cost control, cashflow and reporting.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead a small team of Quantity Surveyors
- Preparation and maintenance of estimates, budgets, cost report and cashflows
- Budget allocation and tracking
- Review and comment on bids and contract award recommendation reports
- Estimating of value engineering options and lifecycle costs
- Establishment and maintenance of a program cost benchmarking database
- Analysing and reporting on Consultants and Contractors cost reports and cashflows
- Coordination with Package Managers, Consultants and Contractors
- Preparation of monthly and weekly reports
Requirements
- BSc in related subject or equivalent experience
- MRICS or equivalent
- 10 years post graduate experience
- Sound knowledge of all engineering and commercial aspects of major civil and infrastructure projects including roads, bridges and utilities
- Experience in conceptual estimating, cost planning, financial accounting, expenditure profiling, cost reporting and cost forecasting
- Ability effectively monitor and analyse cost, identify trends and recommend corrective actions
- Experienced user of MS Office, advanced MS Excel user and Primavera Contracts Manager
- Report writing skills an advantage
- Previous experience in the Middle East an advantage
- Fluent English both written and spoken
