Senior Quantity Surveyor - International Contractor - Western-Educated - EUR 750m Rail Project

International Contractor is urgently seeking a French-speaking Quantity Surveyor / Senior Subcontract Engineer to join their head-office team, on a 750m EUR Light Rail project in Qatar.

This project has so far seen 7km of tunnels, seven underground and four surface stations built, along with a viaduct to the depot. Before completion in 2020, a remaining 25 stations and the depot will be completed, plus all architectural and electro-mechanical works.

Reporting to the Head of Procurement, the successful candidate will supervise the 6-person strong Quantity Surveying team, administrating subcontracts from the tender to the close-out on this huge project.
- Interaction with the Client representatives and Sub-Contractors in respect of all contractual matters
- Prepares correspondence and maintains records necessary to ensure the effective administration of all Contractual matters
- Assists in the review of Contractors claims in accordance with the provisions of the Conditions of Contract
- Assessment and review of Sub-Contractors monthly Payment Applications
- Other extensive duties required, and can be discussed upon application

Requirements

- Preferably native English-speaker, fluent French-speaker desirable
- Master's Degree in Quantity Surveying / Legal & Contract / Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
- Professional Membership such as RICS, and training in construction contract law
- Have a minimum of 5 years experience in Quantity Surveying (preferably in Mechanical or Electrical fields)
- Good communication and negotiation skills
- Previous Leadership and management experience
