Senior Quantity Surveyor

Job description / Role

An exciting opportunity as Senior Quantity Surveyor has arisen for one of the worlds leading design, construction and consultancy firms.

This role will offer the successful candidate the opportunity to work in our client`s client`s office in Riyadh focusing on delivering best in class contractual advice and response to construction claims for a mega construction program in KSA.

Main Responsibilities:

Responsible for analysing the planning/time element of all Contractors claims
Responsible for dissecting construction programmes for the purposes of assessing entitlements
Provide critical path analysis, delay analysis and full technical understanding of Contractors scheduling of works
Provide an independent evaluation of the claim or dispute, maintaining independence from the Projects Commercial Manager and the project team
Provide advice on Contract and Procurement activity
Provide a forensic analysis and evaluation of claims and disputes which have not been resolved at project level, including evaluation of both contractual entitlement and quantum
Manage the input of the commercial view into the Legal Departments decision making process around triggering disputes and/or litigation
Provide an independent evaluation of the claim or dispute, maintaining independence from the Projects Commercial Manager and the project team
Undertake forensic audits of applications, certifications, variations and claims completed at project level from time to time
Maintain the Manual of Contract Administration, updating it periodically to reflect changes to contractual terms and conditions that have occurred

Requirements

BSc in Civil Engineering/Quantity Surveying
Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors
15 years professional experience
5 years experience in the Middle East
Experience with FIDIC contracts
New building construction program experience
Excellent communication skills in both written and spoken English
