The Role


The Role


He is reporting directly to the Head of Corporate Banking, the SRM is responsible for the management and marketing of corporate services to existing and potential clients in his assigned markets as being the primary point of customer contact. The SRM's bear ultimate responsibility for managing all other products lines. The role calls for setting clear objectives, establishing lines of accountability within the team and focusing on long term development of mutually advantageous client relations while ensuring that all short-term objectives are met simultaneously.

Knowledge Required:

He requires high knowledge and commercial expertise in Corporate Banking and other areas in banking is a must for this position. Also in-depth knowledge of the local business environment and corporate names on the island.

In addition, he must be knowledgeable in financial analysis techniques and risk management and be business oriented and cross selling focused, accurate and deadline oriented.

Supervisory Skills:

He must have the below supervisory skills:

Teamwork: Assist other RMs in business development activities and may work closely with them on certain assigned tasks.

Organizational commitment: Be focused on bank’s goals and streamline self behavior in line with overall organizational requirements, priorities and objectives

Guidelines:

The work is generally guided by the detailed system and procedures for the Corporate Banking functions in the Bank. Generally accepted standards and market ethics applicable to the banking industry in Bahrain also need to be fully understood.

Scope:

The scope of work is wide and the RM is required to consult with the Head of Corporate Banking and the other Senior Relationship Manager on matters relating to customers’ banking requirements.

Provide excellent quality of service to Corporate Customers.

Personal Contacts:

He must be able to convey ideas and opinions clearly and comprehensively to others. Being familiar with corporate terminology and BMI linguistics and being able to use these tools effectively and also should develop and maintain effective relationships internally and externally and employ informal networks to get things done.

Moreover he must be client driven and respond to their needs. Recognize their changing demands as well as those of the market place.

Management Controls:

• The ability to conceive issue, opportunities and threats in order to position a product, business or function for the overall competitive advantage of the Group.
• Be proactive in taking sales initiatives and capitalize on opportunities for turning social contacts into business relationships.
• Be client driven and responsive to their needs. Recognize their changing demands as well as those in the market place.
• Maintain corporate customer relationships and liaise with Head of Corporate Banking, Trade Finance, as required, to ensure that customer requirements are met.
• Market the service of the division and establish new corporate business relationships.

It requires at least 5 years of experience in Corporate Banking and a proven track record of capability and results.
