An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Program Management team within AECOM, Qatar as a Senior Resident Engineer appointed to lead the delivery of a USD $400m economic zone marine works package as part of the overall delivery of New Port of Doha. The successful candidate will need to have upwards of 15 years experience within Marine works to be able to supervise the dry excavation of 6.5 million m3 of material, dredging of 7 million m3 of material, reclamation works, breakwater construction and the installation of mass concrete precast block quay walls.

Key Duties include:

Leading a team and delivering the Qatar Economic Zone 3 (QEZ3) Marine works package, ensuring time, cost and quality compliance
Supervising and managing the contractors to ensure the works are constructed as per specification and to established milestone dates
Managing and directing the supervision team of up to 20 employees to undertake day to day inspections of the works Maintaining a very high level of safety awareness, ensuring the contractor complies with their obligations
Administering FIDIC (Fédération Internationale des Ingénieurs Conseils) contracts on behalf and with the Contracts Manager
Removing any potential issues affecting the delivery on behalf of the contractor
Resolving site issues
Negotiating changes to the scope of work with the client and key subcontractors
Responsible for following up on instructions & commitments associated with the project.
Establishing the project execution plan to include health & safety plan, Quality control plan and other documents
Establishing the program requirements for all areas of the project and monitors site staff performance.
Planning, directing and controlling the execution of all technical, fiscal and administrative functions of the project and the site team
Assigning responsibility to key subordinates to ensure full coverage across the package ensuring that each person's key strengths are reflected in their area of work
Providing input to performance reviews and develop plans for subordinates
Working with other managers, project engineers and discipline heads to develop budgets, schedules and plans for the various elements of the package
Monitoring and reporting to management on the progress of all project activities within the program, including significant milestones and any conditions, which would affect project cost, schedule, performance or client relation
Establishing internal weekly meetings to review project status and formulate action items
Representing AECOM in all client meetings
