Charterhouse is working with a multidisciplinary and multinational architectural, planning, design and engineering company that has been operating for over 4 decades from the Middle East. Our client is looking to hire a Senior Lead Architect to join the supervision team in their headquarters in Kuwait.

Working on large scale mega projects, you will advise and assist the Resident Engineer (R.E.) in supervising on-site construction activities ensuring quality assurance and control from start to completion of the construction project. You will review and understand all project contract documents, specifications and drawings including shop drawings and service shop drawings. You will also coordinate with other Site Architects and Engineers before construction activities commence.

In addition, you will review and assess the contractors and sub contractors pre-qualifications and inspect their showrooms, workshop / factory as and when required, ensuring supervision guidelines are adhered to by Site Architects. You will also make recommendations to the Resident Engineer regarding the selection and approval of sub-contractors in consultation with owner / client representatives. You will be responsible for materials, health and safety as well as snagging and reviewing mock-ups. You will also hold and attend weekly progress meetings whilst advancing work against contract documents. You will be accountable for leading a team of Site Architects, delegating and assigning roles, assisting in training as well as the health and safety of Architects and Engineers on-site.

Requirements

The successful candidate should have a Degree or Master's in Architecture and preferably be a member of RIBA / AIA or Kuwait Society of Engineers. You should have a minimum of 15 years experience as an Architect with at least 5 years as a Senior Site Architect and 4 years as a Lead Architect. It is essential you have worked for an international consultancy and possess experience in project management of large scale and mega projects. Our client has expressed a preference for a Western Europe candidate for this role.
