Job description / Role
To support the enterprise wide risk management program through facilitating identification of risks, with the aim to adequately manage or eliminate any risks that may result in property loss, injury, or legal liability and assist the risk owners in development of mitigation plans for risks identified.
To develop and implement reporting and monitoring tools to ensure compliance with Group Risk Management policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
Support implementation of the Enterprise Risk Management framework, in coordination with Group Risk Manager and other Department Heads.
Manage the process of risk identification and assessment for relevant departments and make recommendations to mitigate risk or improve control frameworks.
Oversee and support implementation of risk mitigation plans.
Ensure consistent and ongoing monitoring, and reporting of key business risks, as per the defined policy and guidelines, in conjunction with business heads.
Assist in embedding a risk culture throughout the Group, promoting transparency and accountability for inherent risks and controls.
Assist the Group Risk Manager in promoting risk management related best practices within the business.
Independently lead risk related initiatives in projects and liaise with the business unit representatives with a view to ensuring compliance to Group Risk
Management policies and procedures.
Coordination of team involvement in projects and assignments, including management of deliverables.
Work closely with internal audit, legal/ compliance, asset security, information security and other key control functions for integrated control reviews.
Oversee input and data quality of risk management system, in order to generate accurate reports and periodic analysis of the data.
Requirements
Education/Qualification:
Bachelor’s degree or Master¡¦s degree in business, finance, accounting or economics.
Risk related qualifications/ certifications such as GARP or PRMIA would be an advantage
Experience:
At least 7 years post-graduate work experience in (enterprise) risk management, audit and/or assurance function.
Experience with international risk management practices is essential.
Consultancy/ Compliance Risk experience in the UAE market would be an advantage.
Functional Skills & Specific Knowledge
Thorough knowledge of risk management practices, tools and techniques of risk management.
Knowledge of the key business functions (e.g. sales, marketing, finance, IT, corporate governance) and an understanding of the key risks and controls in these areas.
(Construction) project risk management experience including business/process analysis, risk assessments, documenting gaps and making improvement recommendations.
Persistence, an eye for detail and ability to complete projects and keep to deadlines.
Strong analytical and quantitative ability.
Ability to interact with all functions and levels including senior management/
An excellent communication and presentation skill.
Skilled use of typical office software and an ability to understand and learn risk management software packages.
Ability to facilitate group meetings and manage multiple projects.
