Senior Sales Assistant - Marks & Spencer - Muscat, Oman

In this role you will be responsible for maximizing store sales, supervise the daily operations of the department with Commercial Department Managers (CDMs), ensures minimization of costs by controlling wastage, handling merchandise properly to avoid shrinkage, etc. You will also ensure that visual merchandising guidelines are adhered to and highest standards maintained. You will count and balance cash floats at the start of days operation, monitor stock, best and slow sellers, etc.

You will coach and guide the Sales Assistants on the best customer service behaviors and act as the senior contact on the sales floor for customers and lead the staff and direct their activities as briefed by store management along with coaching, guiding and monitoring the floor activity sheets and direct sales associates. Help to prepare reports and carry out store walks with the CDMs. The position based in the Marks & Spencer Muscat Showroom will report to the Store Manager.

Requirements

You will ideally be an Omani national with a High School Diploma or equivalent qualification and possess 5+ years of relevant experience in a retail, customer service or sales environment. Knowledge of sales & customer service principles and processes would be an added advantage. Leadership skills with strong business acumen and the ability to communicate with individuals at all levels with basic business administration knowledge is mandatory.

Ability to adapt to frequent change and a high pressure environment and knowledge of the Marks and Spencer brand is desired.
