Job description / Role
Responsible for preparing quotations and handling order management of Stock and Traded Valve Business. Ensure all contractual quotation/order requirements are maintained in terms of technical compliance with client requirements, delivery, documentation and commercial terms.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Review of enquiries received in terms of ability to supply from stock, compliance with clients specifications, sourcing of valve from OEMS and distributors, and agreeing margins in line with instruction from line management.
- Inventory management and stock control.
- Follow up open enquiries to ensure requirements are covered and client is satisfied. Obtain information to assist in award of orders and maintain accurate information on all open enquiries.
- Carry out contract review on all received orders to ensure both order and quotations are correct.
- Quote prices and credit terms and prepare sales contracts for orders obtained.
- Estimate date of delivery to customer, based on knowledge of HSP's production and delivery schedules.
- Prepare reports of business transactions and maintain expense accounts.
- Computer database tracking and management of customer data for new and current customers.
- Responsible for meeting and exceeding monthly sales quota.
- Investigate and resolve customer problems with deliveries.
- Supervise and mentor other team members to increase their knowledge and skills as required.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High School diploma or general education degree (GED)
- 3 - 5 Years relevant industry work experience
- Knowledge of: Valve Types (Gate, Globe, Check, Butterfly, Ball, Plug) and Valve Actuation and Controls SOV, Filter Regs, Sizing
- Industry standards for design and testing etc
- Ability to review client specs and data sheets
- Knowledge of Materials and NDT standards
- Excellent English spoken and written communication skills
- Previous sales or customer service experience in a multi-cultural working environment
- Proficient knowledge of MS Office
- Experience using Edgen Murray computer hardware and software.
