Job description / Role
We are working with an International Architectural Design Consultancy that is looking for a Site Architect who is capable of, and has previously worked on high quality mixed use (residential / hotel / retail) developments to join their Dubai studio.
Responsibilities will include:
- Chair and minute site meetings with the contractor
- Supervise the architectural inspectors daily activities on site in coordination with the QA/QC team
- Conduct regular site walks with the client and the contractor to review the progress of work and inspect the quality of ongoing activities
- Review and approve contractors submittals including material approval requests, method statements with relevant inspection and test plans, shop drawings, mock-ups
- Lead the process of preparing snag lists for architectural and/or fit out works
- Respond to the contractors requests for information in coordination with the client and the designer
- Study the architectural value engineering proposals to provide technical imput to the engineers report/recommendations to the client.
- Liaise with the client, designer and contractor to ensure that all design changes are communicated among all stakeholders and recorded in construction documents
- Assist PM with day to day contract administration
Requirements
- A minimum of 10 years experience (some experience in the Middle East would be an advantage)
- Proven ability and previous experience of administering design from drawings through to site
- Some site experience is a must
- Knowledge of Revit is an advantage
- Experience of working on 5* hotel(s) will be an advantage
- Qualified registered architect (member of a professional body)
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
- Experience from a recognised architectural background is an advantage
The package for this role will be circa AED 30,000
