Senior Specialist - Events

Job description / Role

Our client, one of the largest developers in the Middle East and North Africa region based in Abu Dhabi is currently looking for Senior Specialist Events. This role will be reporting to Manager - Marketing Services.

Job Summary
Given agreed footfall and spend targets, undertake all competitive analyses, demand load assessments, opportunity management analyses to support development and maintenance of all event development strategies and tactics while preserving the physical mall integrity.

Responsibilities
- Analyse marketing requirements to define current and future opportunities; conduct detailed segment market research; define gaps.
- Participate in the design and implementation of a mall wide opening plan, develop an integrated suite of promotional events; encourage all departments to participate; partner and piggy back, as appropriate with various mall tenants.
- Devise and present new and exciting programs to improve overall mall visibility, recognition and desirability; ensure absolute compliance with H&S mall policies; evaluate and respond to Event Risk analyses.
- Measure effectiveness of Mall promotional themes, events and activities over time and different promotional periods.
- Monitor budget spend while actioning annual events plan.
- Mature all events policies and procedures.
- Project manage all event activities including evaluation, planning and execution of outsourcing as appropriate.
- Support public relations, marketing and promotion planning, input information to update the mall's website and social media outlets; participate in the creation of promotional copy and events materials for the mall.
- Contribute to the achievement of loyalty/rewards programme objectives, direct audience development in order to encourage repeat business.
- Broadcast corporate and marketing themes and communications, promote tenant and customer newsletters, ensure positive relationships ensue.
- Respond to tenant sales trend and footfall analysis.
- Manage the Event Budget including defensible variance analyses and action planning.
- Nurture and engage 3rd party relationships to the benefit of all stakeholders.
- Participate as Mall Duty Manager (evenings/shifts/weekends), as required.

Requirements

- BSC, MBA Marketing
- Proven ability as an Event Manager in delivering proven approaches as well as original concepts within the MICE, entertainment or hospitality sectors.
- demonstrated technical event skills and tactical process knowledge of large scale public attractions or entertainment sites.
- 5 years of commercially focused event design and delivery that promotes footfall, dwell time and consumer spend.
- Experience with trend and sensitivity analysis; impact of mall CRM processes within large, complex environments.
- Understanding of the GCC market supported by international experience in all aspects of developing and maintaining premier event strategies
- Bilingual (Arabic/English)
- Design, planning, analytical, decision making, relationship management behaviors; sense of humor. Radiates defensible ideas and solutions. Successful track record of achieving team synergies across cross-functional units; demonstrated advanced communication, motivational and interpersonal skills; Highly commercial, energetic, deal-closer.
