As one of the largest oil and gas producers globally and the worlds leading exporter of LNG Qatar Petroleum’s (QPs) strategic planning department plays a crucial role planning for their continued success.

QP are now seeking to hire Senior Strategic Planning Specialists to lead planning activities for one or more major business segments such as Upstream and Downstream Ventures, Organisational Excellence and Performance Management, Environmental, Qatarisation or Safety and workforce diversity.

Successful candidates will advise senior management on the overall effectiveness of QP’s planning systems and produce the Corporate Business Plan for his/her area of responsibility ensuring consistency between Group and Corporate level Business Plans.

The Senior Strategic Planning Specialist will also be responsible for liaising with the Finance directorate to ensure consistency between the corporate level business plan and the annual budget in addition to reviewing directorate and department investment proposals

Required experience and expertise

• 8-12 years experience across a wide range of business areas within the upstream and downstream oil and gas sector.
• University degree in Engineering, Science, Business, Economics or finance preferably at a post graduate level in addition to vocational courses in management, planning, economic modeling and financial analysis.
• Sound overall knowledge of inter-corporate processes (e.g. Legal, Finance)
• Prior experience of business / strategic planning at a department and/or group level
• Knowledge of economic / financial analysis and feasibility studies including the creation of financial models
• Ability to communicate complex issues to senior management in a concise manner
