Job description / Role
In Norconsulting we are urgently looking for a Sr Structural Engineer / Project Manager to work for one of our clients (British Consultant) in a major Residential Project in Dubai
Duties and Responsibilities:
- To provide high levels of leadership and technical input into the Building Structures Function group part of a top tier of technical experts in building structures who are capable of increasing the technical profile of the business
- Also to ensure that all major projects are correctly managed from a technical perspective through the direction of teams of engineering and CAD staff to minimise risk to the company and to maximise the commercial result
- Ensure design and CAD resources are working effectively
- Liaise with other project consultants and client representatives as appropriated to the project
- Working to achieve project delivery in accordance with customer requirements
- Responsible for high level technical design
- Responsible for detailed design
- Review, monitoring and checking of detailed design
- Preparing design and sketches as appropriate suitable for CAD
- Training, mentoring and coaching of junior staff
- Be aware of and have appropriate knowledge of oneway.sys and hybis
- Continue with professional development
Requirements
- Degree Qualified preferably hons and Chartered Engineer
- 10 years experience with Residential projects
- Minimum of 8 years' experience in Structural Engineering, 3 years preferably in GCC
- Sound knowledge and ability in the structural design of buildings, preferable in earthquake resistant high rise structures
- Must be proficient in ETABS/Safe Modelling and RC design with experience in the design of other materials
- Familiar and competent in modern computer modeling analysis
- Familiar and experienced in design to international standards
- Some client facing skills and experience
- Ability to gain confidence and trust, through strong technical communication, good interpersonal skills
- Team player
