Senior Sub Contract Quantity Surveyor - International Sub-Contractor - Qatar

The Contract with the Employer contains provision for the design and fit out, including Mechanical and Electrical Works, for six underground stations and tunnels.

The value of these design and construction packages is in the region of QAR4Bn.

The Senior Sub Contract Quantity Surveyors tasks will include:
- Assistance in the preparation of the Sub Contract enquiry package for onward transmission to the Employer/Engineer for approval.
- Ensure the Sub Contractor maintains the required insurances, Performance and Advance Payment Bonds.
- Responsibility for the management of these Sub Contractors in conjunction with the Works Department.
- Liason with the Works Department and programme management sections to monitor the progress of the Sub Contractor and issues notices as appropriate.
- Issue the required contractual correspondence to the Sub Contractor.
- Prepare Claims against the Sub Contractor where appropriate and defend/resolve claims from the Sub Contractor where these arise.
- Ensure the Sub Contractors account is received timely in the proper manner, and ensure the necessary details are included in the Contractors application for payment.
- Issue the Sub Contract payment certificate at the appropriate time to ensure payment in the times required by the Sub Contract.
- Ensure that any variations in respect of the Sub Contractors works are promptly notified to the Employer and are dealt with in the manner prescribed by the Sub Contract.
- Complete the monthly sub contract financial report timely to ensure that the proper figures are included in the accounting process.
- Provide input into the monthly commercial report as appropriate.

Requirements

The candidate will be a Quantity Surveyor from a major building background, with experience in the management of Sub Contractors.

Overseas experience is not a must.
