The RoleThe RoleThe position is site-based working outdoors in a harsh environment to ensure installations are complete, systems are fully-functional, and surveying equipment is operating as per manufacturer’s specifications. The role is to complete: •Hardware installation with software interfacing of machine guidance equipment correctly and speedily on various plant. •Hardware installation with software interfacing of hydrographic surveying equipment on survey vessels. •Trouble-shooting and maintenance of installed equipment, to ensure peak operating efficiency and minimise costly downtime. •Regular checks and calibration of all the surveying equipment across the projects, to maintain the equipment in peak condition. •Training of end-users in correct use and care of survey equipment. |
RequirementsRequirementsThe ideal candidate should have a Post Secondary education in Surveying with extensive interest in Electronics and Computing or have a Post Secondary education in Electronics with extensive interest in Surveying and Computing along with • extensive knowledge of computing hardware and interfacing of ancillaries, and an understanding of mechanical machine operation such as hydraulics and electrics. • an interest or experience in construction Qualifications: Essential • Post Secondary education, to at least degree level. • Highly IT and computer literate. • Strong technical and analytical skills, with the ability to rapidly grasp customers' requirements and technical solutions. • Experience within the construction industry. • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, in English. • Self-disciplined, highly organized and the ability to work independently. • Customer focused with the ability and willingness to meet aggressive deadlines. • Driving licence. Beneficial • Experience with machine control, and knowledge of dozer and grader survey applications. • Working knowledge of construction products such as total stations, GPS and hydrographic equipment. • Knowledge of marine surveying techniques and equipment. |
