Senior Systems Administrator

Job description / Role

We are seeking a motivated Systems Administrator to be part of a small, distributed team providing high-quality IT supports services. The person will be responsible to conduct activities and provide technical solutions/expertise for Systems, Servers & Storage infrastructure. Principal accountabilities include, but are not limited to, ensuring highly available & optimized servers infrastructure & monitoring the same, implement site IT infrastructure projects & engage in advanced technology project implementations as needed.

Job responsibilities include:
- Plan, Design & Implement application, systems, servers, storage, application load balancers & SAN as per the instructions by section head.
- Manage and administer the various deployed systems, virtual environment & related technologies.
- Implement & monitor strategies agreed by higher management in regards with disaster recovery & high availability.
- Evaluate, implement & monitor security vulnerabilities & threats.
- Evaluate and suggest technologies which would enhance the systems, servers, storage, SAN, application load balancers & security etc. capabilities while meeting business requirement.
- Must submit solution design, scope & business impact for proposals and after project approval should prepare implementation, resource & procurement plan.
- Supervise and provide guidance to projects/maintenance works being carried by Systems administrators & associates.
- Coordinate and assist in annual IT auditing activities. Ensure auditing compliance and prepare quarterly auditing reports.
- Coordinate with various infrastructure section heads/team members in order to troubleshoot Systems related issues.
- Perform daily monitoring activities for application, systems, virtual servers, physical servers, storage & SAN as per the instructions by section head.
- Log all Systems incidents into the Help Desk system and escalate issues to relevant personnel as needed, ensure all tickets are closed as per procedure.
- Coordinate & assist the relevant project team during deployment of new services, new project & other IT projects.

Requirements

- Total 6 years exp. with at least 2 years as Sr. Systems Administrator or 3 years Systems Administrator in an infrastructure of managing 40+ Servers.
- Four year graduate degree in computer engineering/science or 3 year degree in computer science with relevant certifications (MCITP/RHCT/Network+).
- Essential hands-on skills Microsoft/Linux Systems technologies (check core technical skill set below).
- Citrix (XenApp, XenServer, XenDesktop, XenClient, XEnMobile etc.)
- VmWare (vSphere, Vcenter, VRealize, VCloud, Horiozon, Fusion etc)
- Symantec Netbackup 7.5/7.6
- Advance Monitoring tools (Whatsup, Solwarwind, ManageEngine, HP etc.)
- Anti Virus, Anti Spam
- Storage (HP, Dell )
- Application Load balancer (F5, Barracuda, Citric)
- Enterprise Linux (Red Hat, Oracle)
- Windows Server 2008/2012
- Exchange 2010/2013
- Cloud (Private, Hybrid, Public)
