Senior Systems Analyst

Job description / Role

Senior Systems Analyst – conducts similar role to system analyst, with the exception of additional programming and analysis responsibility. The Senior System Analyst will conduct programming tasks as part of projects or system / network support exercise, as well as provide technical support regarding programming needs to facilitate business operations.

• Provide support, system maintenance and major implementation of systems as assigned by IT management.

• Deliver assigned project within acceptable quality level and compliant to ADCB development standards.

• Manage UAT and SIT release as required for the respective function area. Provide the test result results and any documentation to Quality Control Management of disaster recovery as required.

• Conduct incident resolution in remedy within the agreed SLA; production issue, incident resolution, and apply patch / fix as required.

• Conduct periodic IT check and troubleshooting implementation of patches. Assist with the data management process of testing in preparation for patching .

• Test fixes to ensure that the fix provided is aligned with the problem and to establish a solution has been provided prior to handling the solution to the Business users to test.

• Provide technical support and assistance to systems users (i.e., business, operations. customers vendors and other members of the systems community) regarding systems needs; in order to facilitate business operations.

•Prepare the release, package the release and deliver the release as required

• Analyse technical and user-related problems of existing applications and participate in the business analysis phase of new applications.

• Support in the provision of technology based information, such as system performance dashboards, service levels and issue resolution to the business.

• Write programme queries as required to provide ad hoc reports and management information

• Issue management; review and manage critical high and live issues ensuring mitigated or no impact to project.

• Liaise with vendor(s) and users and identify changes modifications or enhancements required by the users.

• Write functional and technical specifications and guidelines for the new system(s).

• Ensure that documentation is maintained and kept up to date.

• Communicate project status (milestone and deliverable reporting), issues, and/or concerns with executive management, team members, and Information Technology managers.

• Maintain current technical skills and begins to gain experience in multiple platform development methodologies.

• Conduct integration and implementation of patch of new systems.

• Provide UAT support to major implementation of systems as assigned by IT management.

• Check the product set up: conduct analysis as required for the product set up.

• Provide UAT guidance and support to the business.

• Conduct the UAT end of day processing in the core system.

• Conduct system integration testing and report faults for action resolution.

• Business liaison: liaise with the project managers / team leaders and the business to provide implementation support.

•Provides effort estimates for projects .

•Conduct programming tasks as part of projects or system/network support exercise.

• Responsible for the internal handover to the business.

• Provide technical support and assistance to users (i.e. business, operations, customers, vendors and other members of the systems community) regarding systems and/or programming needs in order to facilitate business operations.

Requirements

Experience
• Senior System Analyst - At least 4 years experience in Information systems

• Ability to write Technical / Functional Specifications is essential.

• Proven program documentation expertise is required.

• Good working experience in one or more programming languages and databases are required.

• Working knowledge and experience of banking operations and related problems.

• Ability to prioritise and handle multiple tasks.

• Written and verbal communication skills in English, Arabic an advantage.

• Experience in incident management and resolution Experience in managing software releases and configuration management.

• Working knowledge and experience of banking operations and related problems.

• Excellent interpersonal skills .

• Excellent person to person communication skills.

Minimum Education Level

A university degree in Information Systems or similar qualification is required.

Professional Qualification

ITIL v3 Foundation Certified, desirable
