Role
The Senior Systems Engineer's role is to manage the connectivity of infrastructure systems including Microsoft Services, Active Directory, Microsoft Exchange, System Center, Federation Services, Single Sign On, MS SQL databases and virtualization, ADFS, MS Azure service etc to ensure the stable operation of the organisation's IT assets. This includes design / architecture, configuring, managing, maintaining, supporting, capacity planning and optimising all new and existing hardware, software and virtualization requirements.
Responsibilities include:
* Building the environment from scratch, managing standards, designing and implementing of all Microsoft Services, especially AD, Exchange MS Exchange, System Center and other enterprise products
* Managing and ensuring the effectiveness of server and virtualization systems solutions, including Server Operating Systems (Solaris, Linux, Microsoft) and infrastructure based server solutions including Zimbra
* Service management and capacity planning. Familiarity with Patch management and capable of managing multi data centers
* Build and managing Private Cloud
* Understanding Active - Active / Passive Datacenters with regards to respective technology
* Developing various GPO's, High level Administration to handle escalations,windows scripting knowledge
* Deployment of Global Services like SSO, etc..
* Managing complex environments with different technologies from a solution / application point of view in a heterogeneous environment
* Critical situation and recovery
* Manage the infrastructure services for the business to ensure maximum availability and performance at all times.
* Planning service load distribution, DR planning and ensuring business continuity plans are in place
* Managing, developing and maintaining Exchange, SharePoint, JBOSS and others as well as virtualization systems including Hyper-V, Oracle VM, VMware, Citrix XenApp/XenDesktop.
Requirements
* University degree in the field of computer science/engineering or information systems (Master's degree preferred)
* Certifications in server technologies (at least Microsoft certifications)
* Certifications in server technologies (at least 1 of Solaris, Linux)
* Certifications in Virtualization technologies (either Hyper-V, VMware, OVM or Xen)
* Certification in ITIL and Security is desirable.
* At least 3-7 years' work experience managing and configuring enterprise server and virtualization environments (server, storage, application and Desktop).
* Well experienced with design AD / Exchange / system center etc.
* Experience in managing or maintaining a large server environments, especially those in multiple data centers with active/active and active/passive configurations.
* Proven experience in network design and development.
* Working technical knowledge of current systems software, protocols, and standards.
* Good knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws.
* Good working knowledge of ITIL, especially systems management practices, ISO 27001 and ISO 9001 best practices and standards and how they are applied to IT.
