Senior Systems Engineer

Job description / Role

The main responsibilities include:
- Perform the technical leadership role for ABB DCS / Safety System projects in the oil & gas industry, Hands on experience in Infi 90, Symphony & 800xA systems.
- Act as the technical liaison between the customer, the EPC's and the ABB engineering team.
- Develop the project standards in conjunction with the customer for use by the engineering team.
- Direct the engineering team in the ICSS engineering, checkout, customer witness testing and site activities.
- Provide overall technical responsibility for all aspects of the ICSS system including cabinet equipment layout, network architecture and application configuration (I/O assignment, control loop development, operator console displays, alarming, reports, etc.).
- Support sales and marketing in customer focused initiatives when required.

Requirements

-Should ideally have Engineering degree with a minimum of 5 - 8 years ICSS systems engineering experience in the oil & gas industry.
- Strong working knowledge of process control applications, safety systems applications and instrumentation.
- Must be fully versed in Excel, Word and database applications. Ability to travel to customer site.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to manage time and deal with multiple issues, including shifting priorities and schedules.
- Willingness to be involved in all phases of an ICSS automation project, from kick-off meeting to being part of the commissioning and start-up team when required.
