Our client, one of the oldest and leading UK-based Potato producing company is currently seeking to recruit a Senior Technical/Operations Manager. This position will be based in Cairo, Egypt

Job Description:
The role is to oversee the supply (in excess of 50,000 tonne per annum) of potatoes to processing (crisping) customers in Egypt.

The person will acts as a day to day contact with customers to ensure raw material delivery plans are implemented and quality standards are maintained in line with those agreed in contracts (annual) between the company and each customer. As the day to day contact with processing customers the role will involve a high degree of responsibility, sound judgment and independent decision making. The position is not responsible for farm based production but will need to liaise with the company’s representative(s) based at the farm(s).

Requirements

Person Profile Core Skills / Experience:

Ideally currently working in the potato industry – preferably within an environment of supplying potatoes into the crisping and/or frozen processing sector.

Thorough knowledge of potato production, agronomic and storage requirements.

Experience of Quality Control procedures and technical knowledge associated to the supply of processing grade potatoes and associated technical requirements.

Proven track records of managing supply contracts.

Proven ability to manage supply agreements and relations with processing customers.

Knowledge of potato supply chains, logistics and delivery programmes.

Ability to speak Arabic an advantage

Proven ability to manage challenging situations.

Willingness to relocate to Cairo
