Job description / Role
The SMPO Senior Technologist will lead SMPO (Styrene Monomer Propylene Oxide) R&D programs and support R&D programs being led by other SMPO team members. The SMPO Sr. Technologist will participate in project teams and be expected to coach other members of the team. An important dimension of the job is to build and maintain long-term relationships with peers and senior managers in the customer's organization.
* Delivery of the agreed milestones on his/her SMPO R&D program
* Delivery of first class technology services to the downstream businesses
* Delivery and support of technology improvement
* Supporting New Process Development
* Mentoring/on boarding/coaching of new graduates and less experienced team members
* In addition some general activities for the department will form part of the task.
Requirements
Experience:
* Solid R&D and /or Process Engineering and/or Technology skills with minimum 10 years deep and broad technical experience in at least two relevant (chemical) technologies
* Masters degree or equivalent.
* Professional mastery in (chemical) engineering (or chemistry)
* Demonstrated internal and/or external recognition as expert in his/her discipline
* Thorough knowledge of his/her discipline;
* Technical Competencies
* Full mastery of written and spoken English
