We are seeking a qualified and experienced rail systems engineer to provide expert advice and design consultancy services to an extensive internal and external client base with a focus on Rail Systems Integration services through the Implementation Phase of the assigned project (Makkah Metro). This role requires strong design and technical expertise with a background in a multi-disciplinary consulting environment for the rail industry. In the specialist field of Testing & Commissioning this role is to supervise RSDC Test Witnesses and progress with implementation including FAT and site testing and handover. RESPONSIBILITIES - Supervise and enable the process of Test and Commissioning whilst contributing to the witness testing - A Key focus will be the successful handover of the Makkah Metro project - Responsible for execution of planning, scheduling, enabling the successful implementation and handover for Rail Systems and the respective interfaces - Contribute to large scale urban rail projects through out the Middle East - Assist in business development - Link with the Atkins teams based in the UK and Hong Kong and act at as their representative in the region whilst working with the Project Teams - While initially assigned to a specific project, at the completion of this assignment it is expected that the person will be allocated to the Core Rail Systems Team based in Dubai or other Middle East locations to further support Atkins in future projects |
RequirementsRequirementsTechnical Competencies - Essential - Bachelor of Engineering (Elec) with substantial experience in the rail engineering fields and Chartered status or equivalent. - Thorough experience in the analysis, design and documentation of rail systems engineering works from Feasibility and Design to Implementation and Client Handover and Maintenance. - Specialist expertise in a related field (Signalling preferred). - Experience with multi discipline integration projects including rail systems such as Rolling Stock or Signalling. - Demonstrate ability to conceive rail designs to meet requirements of rail equipment and systems. - Demonstrate an ability to manage and lead a team in a multidiscipline project. - Demonstrate sound relationship-building skills with both clients and staff and an ability to influence and coach others. - 5 Years of rail experience relevant to the position. Technical Competencies - Desirable - Middle East or other offshore experience will be highly regarded. - Knowledge of Systems Assurance activities. - Multi lingual (Arabic speaking) Behavioural Competencies - Essential - Demonstrate sound relationship-building skills with both clients and staff and an ability to influence and coach others. - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. - Customer service orientation. - Team Player. - Good computer skills in MS Office. - Self time management to meet tight delivery requirements. - Flexible attitude to balance work load and deadlines. - No limitation to travel in the Middle East and other countries of operation. |
