Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

Working for a global surveillance team and reporting into Head Trade Surveillance EMEA & Americas, you will be responsible for analysis and investigation into alerts generated by automated and adhoc surveillance solutions and processes. You will be required to assist in designing and carrying out themed compliance monitoring reviews. Incumbent of this position will work closely with the global team members to make the trade surveillance program as robust and meaningful as possible.

Key Roles & Responsibilities:
- Daily analysis & investigation into alerts generated by Automated Trade Surveillance solutions, across Fixed Income, FX, Commodities, Derivatives and Equities
- Daily analysis and investigation into alerts generated by automated solutions for e-communications monitoring for allocated jurisdictions.
- Documenting and reporting findings of alert investigations, including execution of appropriate escalation procedures.
- Preparing reports for management regarding the status of alert investigation & escalation.
- Assisting in designing themed reviews and deep dives and executing to deliver on the specified tests for these.
- Devising and conducting Manual Surveillance programme and reports as and when needed.
- Assisting the Regional and Global heads in defining surveillance model requirements and for reviewing thresholds / parameters for automated surveillance solutions.
- Analysis of regulatory requirements and developments for the specified remit from a view to implement adequate surveillance controls.
- Developing and maintaining relationships with Front Office, Control Room, Middle Office, Market Risk, Product Specialists and local/country compliance etc.
- Ensuring that monitoring procedures and parameters are updated to facilitate change in business and market conditions.
- Point of Contact within Hub Location to provide basic Subject Matter Expertise on Market Abuse and market misconduct.
- Other monitoring activities such as Manual monitoring, Voice Tape and adhoc Desk Reviews.
- Ensures individual efficiency and develops subject matter expertise within Trade Surveillance Unit.
- Ensures dissemination of appropriate information and training to team members and local compliance colleagues.

Requirements

Technical Knowledge
- Possesses advanced technical and practical knowledge in relation to Regulatory expectations and requirements on the bank's controls set up around Market Abuse, Insider Dealing, and Market misconduct etc.
- Possesses core understanding in the practical implementation and ongoing maintenance of a global, multi-product Trade Surveillance unit.
- Advanced knowledge of financial products, data mining and trend analysis.

Communications skills
- Good presentation skills: one-to-one, small group, senior management.
- Advanced ability to use communications channels appropriate to the situation, including dispute resolution.
- Ability to lead discussions around complex problems with relevant stakeholders.
