Job description / Role
Assessment of existing transportation conditions, identifying transportation related issues pertaining to specific developments, research investigations, report preparation, and other activities of limited scope requiring knowledge of principles and techniques commonly employed in a specific narrow area of assignments.
Conducts calculation checks and review of transport model updates.
Draws engineering conclusions for data analysis with area of technical proficiency.
Works independently on TIA/TIS projects or portions of larger Traffic Study projects.
Researches and makes sure assignments meet TIA Guidelines, regulatory and industry codes, laws and requirements, as well as, client requirements.
Prepares and/or reviews project deliverables.
Ensure H&S compliance for all traffic survey works. Performs work that involves different stages and takes pro-active action towards meeting project deliverables.
Assists in determining schedule and budget requirements.
Sets out modeling principles and oversees work carried out by junior modelers.
Under direction of a professional or appropriately experienced engineer, manages small tasks or portions of larger project.
Interacts directly with client to gather information and discuss project requirements.
Participates in limited marketing efforts and business development.
Under the direction of a professional or appropriately experienced engineer, independently evaluates, selects and applies standard transport planning techniques, procedures and criteria, using judgment in making minor adaptations and modifications.
Assistance furnished on unusual problems and work reviewed for application of sound professional judgment.
May assign tasks to and coordinates work with entry-level engineers, technicians, and administrative staff.
Trains engineering software to less experienced staff.
Requirements
7+ years experience in transport planning/modeling field
Proficiency in VISUM and VISSIM software
Good understanding of Transport Modeling Techniques
Additionally it would be good if the candidate would have knowledge on SIDRA,SYNCHRO or any other traffic simulation software
