Senior Utilities Engineer

Job description / Role

- Utilities design within the context of roads/rail/urban development projects.
- Assessment of impact on any of the existing utilities and catering for any future requirements of utility agencies/clients/stakeholders.
- Data acquisition and liaise/follow up with the local authorities/utility operators on a daily basis, with the ultimate goal of obtaining Approvals/NOCs.
- Manage progress of drawings and specification for NOCs.
- Track utilities NOCs and ensure all of them are completed on time.
- Ensuring the relevant communication records are kept up to date at all times .
- Overseeing the workload of other engineers and liaising with other disciplines/departments within the company.
- Ensuring the good quality of deliverables, implementation of company's QA/QC procedures.
- Training of other engineers; performs other tasks as deemed necessary as part of the production process.

Requirements

- Bachelor's Degree/Diploma in Engineering (Civil/Mechanical/Electrical, or any other utility related specialty).
- Minimum 10 Year experience in the field of Utilities.
- Proven experience in dealing & liaising with government authorities in UAE.
- Must be familiar with CAD software (Microstation is an advantage).
- Hands on design experience in any utility related discipline is an advantage.
- Experience in assisting/supporting in design activities.
- Excellent communication and inter-personal skills are essential.
- Fluency in Arabic language is an advantage, so is the local experience.
- Must be highly organized.
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize assignments under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Must be a self-starter and have the ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Basic knowledge of construction terminology and processes is highly desired.
- Must be able to work cooperatively with others, a great team player.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of the work.
- Methodical and thorough approach to work.
- Good attention to detail.
