Atkins has been established in the Gulf for over 40 years, having carried out design and supervision commissions in the Gulf area since 1967.

We provide a full range of design, engineering and project management services for buildings, transportation and other infrastructure programmes working on some of the most interesting and challenging Projects in the Middle East. Atkins in the Middle East now employs around 2,000 staff serving Gulf clients across all market sectors from offices in Riyadh, Jeddah, AL-Khober, Abu Dhabi, Al Ain, Doha, Dubai, Kuwait City, Manama, Muscat, and Sharjah.

In KSA, Atkins are involved in a number of high profile projects, we are currently looking for a Senior Utilities Engineer with the relevant experience, a degree qualified and with a minimum of 12 years experience to join our Infrastructure Business.

Principle Activities

* Develop and Implement all aspects of Utility Design and specification to the relevant industry standards.
* Undertake supervision and performance review of the designs including assessment of project locations, reporting on progress, coordination of design review presentations by design consultants, consultants performance including conformance with design criteria, progress and adequacy of submittals.
* Peer Reviews Covering issues such as cost effectiveness, aesthetics, alternatives, operation and maintenance, design life, etc.
* Value Engineering Workshops to study options for savings / concluding with a benefits analysis to justify recommendations.
* Managing key stakeholder interfaces which will include all departments within the client organisation as well as other government departments.
Liaison and interfacing with utility companies to ensure the design takes cognizance of their requirements.
Ability to actively led tender submissions within their technical domain.

Requirements

Requirements

* The Senior Utilities Engineer will be a qualified professional who has reached Senior Manager level.
* It is likely that the person fulfilling this role will have had or is ready to take on the management of a major design projects.
* The successful candidate must be capable of providing planning, leadership, direction and technical expertise to manage complex tasks and multidisciplinary projects. They must have a minimum qualification BSc, BEng, BA or equivalent, have Chartered status and more than 12 years experience with 6 being similar to this project/role.
* The Senior Utilities Engineer will also be responsible for maintaining and enhancing Atkins reputation with our clients and the successful candidate will be co-located within the clients office.
* An experienced Engineer with a demonstrable track record in the delivery of large multi functional projects, ideally within urban and interurban environments.
* Utilities and services will include any street furniture, street lighting, water, electricity, Oil lines, telephone and communication network, landscaping and irrigation, gas, electric, fibre optic, cables etc Knowledge of project controls procedures.
* Knowledge of project controls procedures.
* A rounded profile, comfortable with planning, analysis and managing process and commercial considerations. The successful candidate will also be able to mobilise people and teams and drive for a successful delivery.
* Effective in building good working relationships within complex structures both within projects, with clients and internally.
* Experience spanning local and national government clients and stakeholders would be an advantage.
