Our Infrastructure team in Bath are delivering some of the Practice's most interesting and challenging masterplanning and infrastructure schemes. With a 35 year history of working in the Middle East, we have a wealth of experience in challenging environments and continue to work on major developments in the region, whilst also taking this knowledge to new emerging regions the world over. This vacancy represents an opportunity for a talented individual to join a successful and passionate team of like minded engineers, to work on projects of a prestige and scale more typically synonymous with consultancies in London.

A position has arisen for a Senior or Associate Infrastructure/Civil Engineer within our Infrastructure team in Bath. The role will be both to lead the civil engineering design of major urban infrastructure projects drainage, highways and site development, and to assist and contribute to developing the work of the group.

The role will involve working on a portfolio of projects likely to include schemes in both Middle East and UK, amongst which include Hamad Medical City in Doha, Football stadia in Saudi Arabia, Olaya Metro Station in Riyadh, and the North Quays development in Bath.

The ideal candidate will possess general infrastructure experience (drainage, highways and earthworks). In addition, environmental and masterplanning experience and a broad interest in the urban environment and sustainable development would be preferable.

Responsibilities:
- Undertake detailed civil engineering design
- Manage single and/or multidisciplinary projects in accordance with Buro Happold procedures
- Prepare Technical Specifications
Check/verify subordinates work
- Monitor job financial performance
- Prepare technical and financial proposals for provision of professional services
- Plan and manage CAD documentation of design work
- Represent Buro Happold at meetings with clients, other professionals and suppliers
- Ensure senior staff are kept informed of important and relevant service/design decisions and the objectives of the company and the client are achieved
- Coordinating his/her work with other members of the project team

Requirements

Essential Experience:
- Proven track record within a comparable civils/infrastructure design role, preferably in a consultancy environment
- Drainage, highways and earthworks engineering design experience
- Working on a one to one basis and in team working situations
- Experience of communicating technical subjects
- Experience in working within a team

Desirable Experience:
- Experience of large international multidisciplinary projects
- Environmental, masterplanning and sustainable development experience

Good working familiarity with the following:
- AutoCAD Civils 3D
- WinDes MicroDrainage
- 12d

Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree (BEng) in a relevant subject.
OR
- Masters degree (MEng) in a relevant subject.

PLUS
- Chartered Engineer and corporate member of relevant institution.

Additional attributes:
