Shared Services Accounting Manager

Job description / Role

The role will be responsible to lead the accounting shared services functions and develop a plan that will deliver the requisite level of service expected by all the business units in the Middle East & Turkey. Specifically this will include partnering with business units and other stakeholders to understand the underlying business operations and processes to implement shared services strategic initiatives and workflow optimization for internal and external customers. The person will manage accounting activities related to the shared services function, including general ledger, balance sheet account reconciliation, payables/receivables, treasury, and credit & collection.

Requirements

- Taking a lead role in the centralization of a large multi-site finance function spread across multiple businesses within the group.
- Assisting the Finance Director with specification of requirements for the successful maintenance of the shared service operation.
- Managing the performance of a large transactional team spread across sales ledger, purchase ledger and credit control
- Oversee the development, review and implementation of accounting systems, reporting methods, controls, policies and procedures.
- Formulate and administer approved accounting practices throughout the organization to ensure that financial and operating reports accurately reflect the condition of the business.
- Ensure timely and accurate financial information reporting and analysis to business in the periodic reporting cycle.
- Responsible for ensuring the successful preparation and coordination of the annual budget.
- Responsible for ensuring rigorous financial control and treasury management procedures.
- Main contact for internal business partners, auditors and banking partners.
- Review and update, as necessary, policies and procedures, around areas of responsibility to ensure they are accurate and provide the appropriate clarity for the department.
- Responsible for ensuring good credit management.
- Lead the credit review and manage credit limits for new and existing customers.
- Develop and publish metrics to evaluate collection efforts and provide management on status of aged receivables.
