Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

The shift leaders job is to coordinate with production planner and plant manager, take the plan & execute communicate effectively for daily production requirements. Lead the plant operators. The shift leader will work amongst the team of operators performing routine plant works whilst taking up the leadership role. Must ensure compliance to SHE, local regulations & company policies.

Main Responsibilities:
- Provide leadership for the successful day-to-day operation of the facility
- Ensure to implement SHEQ related activities in the shop-floor
- Meet the committed volumes of production against the plan
- Responsible in controlling the inventory, meeting the dispatches against the plan and production planning
- Responsible for taking adequate precautions to care of your own safety and that of other employees.
- Report and take appropriate corrective actions on any Hazards or dangerous situations that might harm the employees and equipment safety.
- Encourage workers to wear the Personal Protective Equipments.
- Take appropriate Disposal and Corrective actions on Spills, Incidents and Near Misses.
- Report Safety and Health Observations
- Promote the reporting culture within the team and take corrective actions on observations made
- Responsible for Maintenance and calibration of Equipments, and storage tanks
- Checking that the Goods are received and Products are dispatched as per requirements, i.e., Product Name, Quantity, Packing, Drum type, Certificate of analysis, MSDS etc.
- Arrange onshore and offshore bulk tank safety listing (Lift, leak and inspection certification) as per customers and statutory requirements.
- Raising Internal Non Conformance reports for Quantity of goods received, Expired Products for disposition etc.
- Ensure that the plant personnel are aware of the potential hazards in handling chemicals and any other activities carried out.
- Responsible to ensure that the plant personnel have awareness about Emochem SHE and Quality Policy and their individual responsibilities.
- Carry out Occupational Health and Safety Hazard identification and Risk Assessment and Environmental aspects and impacts assessment.
- Participate in Management Review Meetings.
- Responsible for ensuring the security of the plant and equipments and ensuring that the Emergency response plan is established and is effective.
- Work closely with quality personnel to review product consistency while monitoring scrap rates to determine trends and areas of improvement.
- Analyse workforce requirements.
- Encourage and promote operating in a continuous improvement environment.

Requirements

- Secondary school or technical trade certificate
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a chemical manufacturing or related environment
- At least 2 years experience leading a team of operators
- Excellent English language and communication skills are essential
