Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

Direct Supervisor: Logistics Supervisor

Job Summary:
- Follow-up with concerned on obtaining required shipping/customs documents for a smooth and timely shipping operation and ensure shipment status update is always communicated to concerned departments.
- Liaise with freight forwarders on freight bookings and timely release of containers from shipping lines to meet shipping schedules.
- Obtain, review, and submit required documents i.e. Pro-forma invoice (PI) and Commercial Invoice (CI) for conformity inspections.
- Follow-up with suppliers on loading of confirmed shipments, obtain shipment delivery note, update loading voucher on FOCUS with actual items loaded, and report discrepancies to concerned departments.
- Maintain accurate and timely records of en-route shipments status and provide regular updates to management and concerned departments.
- Obtain original shipping documents from suppliers required for customs clearance and send them to the appointed customs broker prior to the arrival of shipment at the port of destination.
- Follow-up with the logistics department(s) in Iraq the clearance process of the shipments and ensure all information / documents are made available in a timely fashion to avoid any delay and demurrage charges.
- Obtain output report for each shipment and communicate it to the respective logistics department(s) in Iraq prior to shipment arrival at port of destination.
- Follow-up with respective logistics department in Iraq the delivery of containers to the correct destination and their return to the shipping line within the stipulated timeframe.
- Perform other duties related to the job as assigned by the management.

Requirements

- University degree in Business Administration or related discipline.
- Minimum one year of previous experience in shipping with solid background on shipping and customs procedures.
