Shipping Officer

Job description / Role

A leading semi-governmental organization based in Abu Dhabi is looking to recruit experienced shipping officer. The desired candidates must have experience with manufacturing or printing industry.

The Shipping Officer is responsible for ensuring timely and accurate product receipt and delivery for internal and external clients.
- Acts and behaves in a way that is compliant with company guidelines and policies, especially those relating to Environment, Health and Safety, ethics and codes of conduct.
- Implements all activities for acquiring raw material, supplies, services, tools, and equipment as required to support production.
- Confers with internal and external suppliers to coordinate the delivery of raw materials and supplies in order to expedite flow of materials and meet production schedules.
- Organizes the dispatch of finished products to clients in coordination with other relevant functions, such as Production.
- Administers project transport requirements and assigns duties to drivers to ensure timely services.
- Tracks order progressing to process customer invoicing and general record keeping and office duties.
- Ensures that all related purchase documentation and general record keeping are completed to a high order of accuracy and in a timely manner.
- Maintains and adheres to departmental policies and procedures to ensure ongoing compliance and to ensure internal audits and external audits are completed successfully.

Requirements

- Minimum of a high school diploma
- Minimum 2 to 3 years of experience preferably within the manufacturing industry
- Proficient in English and Arabic
- Strong communication and organization skills
- Understanding of warehouse and facility operations
- Customer focus and orientation skills
