Our client is a Qatari holding group with world standard operations across diversified business interests including oil and gas and property and real estate. The firms property and real estate arm has national and international projects comprising hotels, resorts, shopping centers and residential sub divisions valued up to QR10M. They now wish to appoint a Site Engineer Construction to their development team to act as the clients representative to manage the clients risk and financial returns. This role will manage various construction projects, provide technical advice and manage various local contractors, consultants and suppliers. This role forms part of the client team and takes partial responsibility for security, health and safety, and organising and supervising materials and people. This role is also responsible for making sure the designs are applied correctly and are properly executed by the related contractors and consultants.

Reporting to the Project Architect, the performer we seek for this role will be responsible for the following:
- Acting as day-to-day site engineer on the project and a key source of technical advice and quality control for project activities.
- Ensuring projects meet agreed specifications and timescales
- Checking drawings and quantities and ensuring the accuracy of calculations.
- Project reporting to the Project Architect as required.
- Manage the setting out of the works in accordance with the drawings and specifications
- Managing construction programmes for construction and material procurement
- Checking materials and work in progress for compliance with the specified requirements
- Observance and coordination of safety requirements
- Resolving technical issues with contractors, consultants and statutory authorities
- Quality control in accordance with method statements, quality plans and inspection and test plans.
- Liaising with project purchasing department to ensure that purchase orders adequately define the specified requirements
- Providing data in respect of variation orders and site instructions
- Preparing record drawings, technical reports, site diary
- Coordination with consultants relative to facilities management requirements for the project

Requirements

- Degree in Construction, Engineering or comparable with a minimum of 3 years experience with a Tier 1 contracting firm or property developer.
- Able to work autonomously with demonstrated leadership and coordination experience.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, and deal with multiple entities in an organized manner
- Candidates must be bilingual in English and Arabic.
- Former expatriate experience is essential.
