Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

Conduct business in line with the vision and mission statements of ABB Full Service. Support the maintenance operations to ensure that safe work practices and behavior are in place for all jobs. Ensure that the Health and Safety and Environmental policies of ABB as well as the H&S Site Plan are followed.

- Responsible to support the maintenance team in ensuring safety culture
- Apply safety rules and safe practices as well environmental responsibilities while at work, report unsafe practices and incidents
Site safety culture
- Support updating the Site Risk Assessment
- Support updating general and site based safety instructions
- Unsafe activities are immediately stopped and safe operations restored
- Site based safety induction (employees and visitors)
- Updating the Skill Matrix and Training Matrix regarding safety
- Safety equipment (safety signs, first aid kits, fire extinguishers)
- Personal Protective Equipment
- Carry out/participate in safety audits according to the safety audit plan
- Ensuring that all safety records and information is stored correctly, updated and available when needed
- Collecting Near Misses and follow-up of related action plan
- Collecting of data for KPIs and preparing reports to customer, authorities and ABB
- Keep site H&S notification boards information updated
Improvement
- Proactively identify potential improvement areas and give initiatives to team
- Review safety practices
- Participate in safety related actions, events, audits and reviews

Other responsibilities
-Participate in shift and call-out rotations when needed
-All other duties as may be determined from by managers

- Build efficient team work practices and achieve a conscious HSE environment on site
- Work to create a HSE culture that supports operations rather than hinders it

Requirements

- Relevant post trade or higher qualifications
- NEBOSH certification
- HSE experience in heavy industry or similar
- Passion for health, safety and environment
- Customer focused attitude
- Able to communicate effectively
- Developing and leading an effective team
- Recognize and take action to improvement activities
