The Role


The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is witnessing vast investment in its social infrastructure as it strives to meet His Majesty King Abdullah's vision to constantly raise living standards. Atkins is positioned to play an important role, providing technical solutions to many of the challenges presented by this vital development programme

Due to our continuing expansion we now require an experienced Site Mechanical Engineer to work on a variety of construction of Villas/building and infrastructure projects.

Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering from a recognised University, Chartered or near chartered Mechanical Engineer.
A minimum of (15) years experience of Mechanical engineering with consultants out of which (5) years in site supervision works and (2) years in Saudi Arabia
Must have integrity, be flexible and proactive
Must demonstrate ability to act independently as part of a team
Understanding of British, American and International design standards
Reasonable knowledge of AutoCAD, and MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint Good communication skills in written and spoken English essential
Good report writing skills, experience of making presentations to and attending meetings with clients is essential
Good team player, able to communicate effectively with colleagues
Planning and time management and Influencing skills.

Responsibilities

Initial review of Contract Documentation
Proactive management of contractor’s contractual obligations in respect of Mechanical works
Responsibility for maintenance of quality standards in mechanical works executed by contractor
Responsible for review and approval of shop drawings & material Submittals
Management of mechanical inspection team for works in progress
Ensuring compliance with specifications and contract drawings
Liaison with design office/resident engineer/contractor/statutory authorities
Witnessing of testing and verification of mechanical systems commissioning
Other duties as requested from time to time.
