The Louvre Abu Dhabi is a project of international significance and considerable size and complexity. It is providing us with a great opportunity to further enhance our international reputation and brand recognition in the Middle East. The design, which has been developed in collaboration with leading architects Ateliers Jean Nouvelle, represents the best in fully integrated, multi-disciplinary engineering design. The design was delivered principally from our Bath office and we have been engaged by the Client to provide ongoing construction phase services.

Our local team is located at the project site. It is responsible for supervising and monitoring the construction of the engineering construction works on behalf of our client TDIC. Duties include monitoring and reporting on the works for compliance with the engineering drawings and specifications, review of method statements and programme proposals, reviewing contractor and sub-contractor technical submissions and providing engineering support services to the Clients Project Management team in their administration of the contract.

Requirements

1. Principal Role:
Inspect and supervise the works in accordance with spec/drawings and statutory regulations.
Structural site audit.

2. Duties & Responsibilities:
Report to RE and SRE structural.
Carry out regular site inspections.
Review and monitor Contractors procedures/ practices for health and safety.
Review and monitor contractors shop drawings, materials and method statements.
Record changes on site and Review as-built drawings/ submissions.
Monitor contractors progress on site.
Audit Inspectors work as part of Site QA procedures.

3. Routine Activities
Site Inspections and Supervisions.
Inspect all permanent works for spec/drawings compliance.
Check dimensions and levels/ profile.
Check for form work/ false work / shutter work (dimensions/ verticality/ stability).
Implement ITP, Approved MSs, Check-list etc.
Maintain record of Inspection requests.
Take photos of construction activities /progress and maintain a hard and soft copy of photographs.
Check/watch any unapproved/unauthorised works on site and notify.
Inspect/ watch temporary works on site, record and notify.
Check temporary access/ramps/ladders/lighting.
Check/watch safety on site and report incidents immediately.
Assist in administering safety programme.
Custodian of Shop drawings (Structural).
Arrange copies for site hanger set.
Maintain the Drawing hangers (design and shop).
Mark-up the design/ site changes on working drawings (for as-built).
Maintain a record of drawing approval status.
Carry out minimum 2 rounds of general inspections on site per day.
Initiate/generate Site Notes and other Site Observations.
Visit lab/plant, witness tests, material inspections.
Review of test results.
Coordinate MEP/ Architectural inspections wherever necessary/ required.
Check site manpower/ resource/ plant/ machinery on site as required.
Proper hand-over of inspections to the next shift.
Keep a copy of site related documents for site uses.
Maintain site diary on daily basis. Record all significant events on site.
