RequirementsRequirementsEssential Job Functions: Design highly reliable, scalable, extensible, maintainable, and operable content platform systems for global marketplaces Work closely with the product management and development teams to define the next generation of content platforms. Recommend technology, engineering organization, and standards. Work closely with the development team to develop design patterns and to improve code quality, performance, and overall system reliability. Hands on experience and capabilities are a must. Define and drive architecture standards working with other architects within the group, the rest of the company, and external organizations Evangelize content platforms vision and strategy with senior management and other groups within the company Years of Experience Needed 7+ years Experience dealing with customers in a solution architect role is a plus. Position Requirements Expertise with large, distributed, object-oriented client/server and/or web-based systems design and implementation, with solid understanding of algorithms, data structures, scalability and performance optimization techniques Have been the main architect of a major successful product Expertise in evaluating, selecting, and integrating best-of-breed/innovative technologies Analytical skills: complexity, capacity, performance, quality, logistics Ability to design for testability, operability, scalability Strong verbal and written communication skills Technical Skills Needed Deep knowledge of C++and/or Java. Deep understanding of RDBMS technologies, their strengths, weaknesses and alternatives. Experience with scripting languages such as PHP, Perl, Python, and/or Ruby Understanding of Web Technologies (e.g. HTTP, XML, REST, Apache) Experience with web client technologies such as DOM, CSS, and JavaScript Experience with UNIX networking, Sockets, TCP/UDP |
