Software Quality Assurance Engineer / Tester

Job description / Role

- Identifies, analyzes, and documents problems with software applications following the established methodology and ability to write clear, concise well-structured documents.
- Write and execute test scenarios based on analysis of system requirements/ enhancement.
- Participate in troubleshooting and triaging of issues with different teams to drive towards root cause identification and resolution.
- Defect Life Cycle management and reporting through Product Tracker or similar tools such as Quality Center, Jira, etc.
- Evaluates and tests new software applications according to business and functional requirements.
- Communicates significant issues or developments identified during quality assurance activities and provides recommended process improvements.
- Prepares reports to communicate involvement and results of quality assurance activities.
- Prepares test plan with test cases and test scripts to test each software component and demonstrate the business condition under test and the expected results.
- Provides estimates and feedback to the Testing Team Leader for project scheduling purposes.
- Tests all projects according to business requirements and complete all test related tasks on time.
- Ensures high quality and accuracy is maintained through to software releases.

Requirements

- A Bachelor degree in Computer Science/IT/Software Engineering or equivalent and possesses good knowledge on Quality Assurance standards such as CMMI/ ISO and Compliance and Anti Money Laundering concepts.
- Minimum 2 years of quality assurance experience in a software development environment preferably using VB, C#, Access, SQL Server and Oracle 9i/10g.
- Strong background in Remittance/Foreign Exchange and Banking systems domains.
- Knowledge of automated testing tools like IBM Rational Functional Tester (RFT) or similar tool. Experience and capable of testing API and Windows Services.
- Experience in Smoke, Functional, System, Integration and Regression testing.
- Non-Functional requirement testing exposure such as security, performance, compatibility, etc. testing.
- Sufficient knowledge/experience working with Microsoft products and operating system.
- Sufficient Knowledge with relational database concept and technical data manipulation techniques including the use of SQL.
- Other skills required for the job:
- Excellent organizer with solid planning and problem-solving skills
- Good verbal and written business communication in English.
- Strong analytical skills
