Soil Investigation / Test Consultant

Job description / Role

- Reviews and approves designs and construction drawings of roads and infrastructure projects.
- Have full awareness of testing requirements.
- Assists in the development of testing procedures.
- Understands related sciences such as hydrology, environmental, geophysics, hydrogeology, surface water management
- Utilizes principles of Soil Mechanics and Rock Mechanics.
- Checks material submissions and properly process approvals.
- Ensures materials delivered are as approved and are properly stored.

Requirements

- Degree in Civil Engineering, Materials Engineering or Equivalent.
- At least 10 years relevant experience in construction supervision and design review of roads, highway, bridges, tunnel and infrastructure works.
- At least 5 years soil and material investigation experience.
- Adept with the principles of Soil Mechanics and Rock Mechanics.
- With demonstrated experience in soil classification, site investigations design, in-situ and laboratory testing, foundation design for shallow and deep foundations, slope stability analyses in rock and soil, temporary works design, retaining wall design, application of rock mass classification systems.
