Position Overview
Excel4apps is seeking a Solution Specialist based in Dubai. The Solution Specialist will join the Training and Support team and report primarily to the Global Head of Support Services with secondary responsibility to Regional Management. This position will handle a variety of training, product and presales support activities for our global organization. The ability to manage time and work independently in a fast-paced environment is essential.

Job Functions:

Product / Solution Training
o Train end users on Excel4apps reporting solutions. This involves presenting online using web based technology and occasionally on-site training courses.
o Assist clients/prospects in building proof of concept reports using Excel4apps products.
o Present / demonstrate solutions to prospects and at tradeshows / webinars.

Support Functions
o Receiving notification of a new issue logged by a customer.
o Using the company knowledge base and personal experience gained to find a solution.
o Updating our case logging system with comprehensive detail regarding case status.
o Hosting online meetings with the customer to troubleshoot the problem.
o Keeping the customer regularly informed regarding progress and resolution.
o Seeking solutions from expert internal resources for unresolved issues. Follow-up until resolved.

Technical Support / Solution Development
o Develop proof of concept reports for prospective customers during the sales cycle. This would involve using Excel4apps toolsets with the ability to create visually impressive Excel workbooks. In addition this may involve developing SQL appropriate for customer data and performance requirements and integrating the SQL into Excel4apps Reports Wand templates.
o Assisting the local sales team with any issues of a technical nature and providing technical support in the sales process where needed.
o Assist with customer performance tuning by evaluating the explain plan which shows how our product’s SQL is executing on their system and using SQL hints, indexes, etc. to diagnose a solution to the performance issue.

Product testing – with new releases / new functionality assist during the testing cycles.

Requirements

The successful candidate must be a self-starter, possess excellent organizational skills and have good written and communication abilities. The candidate should have a techno-functional background of Oracle e-Business Suite including the finance modules. Candidate should also have a strong interest and ability to build and write financial reports using Excel along with Excel4apps products.

Essential Requirements
o Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Management Information Systems, or related discipline.
o 5+ years of progressively responsible ERP application implementation and support experience
o 3+ years of programming experience using SQL, PL/SQL, TOAD, and/or Oracle SQL Developer
o 3+ years of experience working with Oracle finance modules
o Deep understanding of Oracle e-Business Suite and specifically the General Ledger and financial modules from a functional and technical perspective (table layouts etc.)
o Demonstrated proficiency in SQL performance tuning
o Understand finance reporting and month end processing requirements.
o Be comfortable working with new technology and software.
o Strong experience in Java and related technologies and frameworks
o Understanding of Microsoft Windows operating systems and methods of installing and configuring related products.
o In depth and advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel functionality.
o Must have an affinity for problem solving, strong analytical and organizational skills, and ability to prioritize and multi-task.
o Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment and be able to communicate effectively with co-workers and customers who have varying levels of functional and technical expertise.
o Display energy, enthusiasm and ambition in your work.
o Excellent communication and presentation skills with a proven ability to perform compelling software demonstrations
o Successful candidate will be based in UAE - some travel will be expected, primarily within the GCC
o Fluent in English

Preferable Skills/Abilities
o Business Analyst capabilities including ability to build financial reports using Excel
o Finance and Accounting education and experience
o Salesforce.com experience
o GL Wand Experience
o Experience with SAP financial modules a plus
