SE (Solution Engineer) Job Description
As a Solution Engineer, you'll combine technical and operational knowledge with sales skills. The balance depends on the level of technical knowledge and understanding of the designated customer and offering. Our clients will usually be management level staff and technical staff from governmental organizations. To ensure our customer’s needs are met, you'll liaise regularly with sales personnel, and colleagues from other departments such as R&D, design, product marketing, purchasing and production, and senior company managers.
You will report to the Director of Solution Engineering.

Tasks
SE’s day-to-day tasks are likely to involve:
• Defining and designing new solution concepts for the designated products & solutions – Global wide.
• Frequent travel
• Managing, defining and interpreting customer requirements.
• Developing and characterizing customer solutions and concepts.
• Overseeing and supervising customer technical and conceptual proposal supporting sales team – technical / operational.
• Defining post-sales support services.
• Preparing reports for head office.
• Coordinating technical meetings with customer and global company technical teams.
• Supporting marketing by attending trade shows, conferences and other marketing events.
• Making technical /operational presentations and demonstrating how a product / solution will meet customer needs.
• Providing pre-sales technical / operational assistance and product education.
• Liaising with other members of the sales team and other technical experts.
• Solving customer problems (concept / presale – Not deployment).
• Assisting in the design of custom-made products.
• Providing coaching and producing support material for other members of the sales team.

Requirements

To be a solution engineer you'll need:
• A solid technical background – large scale system integration projects (preferably above 30M$)
o In one or more of the fields of: Security Systems, Defence, Law Enforcement, Intelligence, Cyber/IT Security
• Operational background (military, HLS office, national security agency, other)
• Academic degree in a relevant area
• Sound judgment and good business sense
o Experience in the sales process (preferable)
• Team working ability
• The ability to build relationships with Customers quickly
• Multi-tasking ability
• Analytical and problem-solving skills, creativity , innovative thinking
• Resilience and tenacity
• Independence.
• Ability to create high quality technical / operational documents
• English a must – fluency to a high level, other languages is an advantage
• At least 5 years of experience as a pre-sales engineer or other customer facing technical position
• At least 5 years of experience in writing technical proposal documents
• Ability to perform background market research and to create technical white papers in the subject area
