Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

Assesses the educational level and learning ability of the pediatric inpatient or outpatient. Establishes an individual education plan, implements the plan after coordination with other team members and provides appropriate documentation. Educates the child to assistive aids as appropriate to the child’s impairment. Assists in the child’s development of communication and social skills. Participates in the interdisciplinary team process to promote optimum independence in this child’s life. Ensures continuation of child’s performance through effective education of family. Provides adaptive methods and equipment as appropriate. Functions as an integral part of the interdisciplinary team.

Requirements

1. Education: Bachelor’s degree of Special Education from an accredited university.
2. Experience: Five years experience in Special Education teaching preferred.
3. Skills and Knowledge -CPR training within 90 days of employment.
