Employment: Full Time

Responsible for maintaining Sidras Charge Description Master, including additions, changes, deactivations, and creating new departmental charging methods. Liaises with Departmental staff to ensure that clinical charging for services performed and billing codes are fully and correctly established in Sidras patient care applications. Provides education within the Revenue cycle team and to Sidras Departmental staff when needed.

KEY ROLE ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Maintains Sidras Charge Description Master, including additions, changes, and inactivations.
- Works with Sidra departmental managers to ensure that clinical charges and billing codes are fully and correctly established in Cerners patient care applications and are captured by Cerners patient billing applications based on the billing and coding guidelines set by Sidra and the Supreme Council of Health.
- Ensures the accuracy and completeness of all coding systems with the CDM, which may include DRGs, ACHI, CPTs HCPCS, etc.
- Participates in the establishment of Sidras pricing methods and structures.
- Participates in providing estimates on procedures or services to insurance offices and clients.
- Maintains an understanding of feeder systems that are related to charging.
- Conducts audits to determine that the Charge Description Master is being utilized correctly for charge capture.
- Liaises with Sidra and other members of Sidras Patient Billing and Insurance team as necessary.
- Actively promotes and participates in initiatives to improve organization effectiveness and efficiency in regards to charge capture and creation of business lines.
- Responsible for the ongoing training and development of clinical and Revenue Cycle staff with respect to the Charge Description Master.
- Provides education as needed to all departments related to the Charge Description Master.
- Attends finance and staff meetings as required.
- Fosters a service oriented environment with Sidras internal and external customers in order to best achieve Sidras organizational objectives.
- Performs duties as assigned.
- Adheres to Sidras standards as they appear in the Code of Conduct and Conflict of Interest policies.

In view of the developing and changing needs and opportunities within Sidra during this start-up phase, this position may be required to perform other duties as assigned and reporting relationships may vary.

Requirements

- Degree in Commerce, Health Information Management, or a Health related discipline.
- Demonstrated five (5) years of CDM experience in a complex acute care organization similar to Sidra.
- Demonstrated ability and skills with patient billing systems, health procedures and classification systems including DRGs, CPT/ACHI and HCPCS codes, Relative value weighting methods, etc.
- Knowledge of hospital accounting systems and practices as related to patient billing.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.
- Fluency in written and spoken English.
