Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

- Track the health of, and treat, both mother and fetus as the pregnancy progresses.
- Specialize in childbirth, ceaserian and other instrumental obstestric deliveries including foresepts and vacuum extraction.
- Applies surgical procedures and coordinates gynaecological & obstetrical operations including laporascopic and infertility prosedures, IVF etc. All in conjuntion with the consultant and anaesthesiologist.
- Dealing with birth injuries and any post-oprative complications
- Directs nurses in procedures for preoperative and postoperative care such as administering sedatives, prescribing diets, and preparing operative area of patients.
- Examine patients, perform and interpret diagnostic tests to obtain information on medical condition and determine diagnosis.
- Administers and prescribes such conservative measures of treatment as antibiotics, drugs, and compresses.
- Explain procedures and discuss test results or prescribed treatments with patients and families.
- Monitor patients condition and progress and re-evaluate treatments as necessary.
- Collect, record and maintain patient information such as medical history reports and examination results.
- Refer patient to medical specialist or other practitioner when necessary.
- Performs rounds in the wards.
- Holds clinic daily.
- Follows policies and procedure for infection control and facility safety in accordance to hospital guidelines.
- Take on-call duty outside of scheduled working hours.
- Participates in medical conferences and meetings inside and outside Al Noor Hospital.
- Attends and organizes CME.
- Develop a personal program of self study and professional growth with guidance from the medical staff.
- Actively participate in Hospital committees and task forces as assigned by the HOD/Medical Director.
- Maintains good relationship with the other departments and colleagues.
- Exercises and maintains good discipline.
- Continuously adhere to Al Noor Hospital Dress and Grooming Policy for medical professionals.
- Accept temporary duty assignments as directed by the HOD.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

- University Qualifications: MD
- Other certifications obtained: MRCOG
- Minimum of three (3) years relevant experience at an appropriate level

Specialist knowledge:
- Ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, nurses, doctors and other hospital staff.
- Demonstrated commitment to continuing medical education.
- Publication in peer reviewed journals would be well regarded.
- Demonstrated ability to deliver quality patient care.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a multidisciplinary team.
- Demonstrated commitment to quality improvement for better health outcomes.
- Good computer literacy.
- Soft Skills and Personality traits: Fluency in written and spoken English (Arabic language skills are well regarded).
- High level of verbal and written communication skills.
- High level of interpersonal and organizational skills.
